Awesome Creatures came out today at DAZ!  Yay!  This is the male version of a product that Sickleyield and I did for Genesis 2 Female creature creator.  We packed a lot of character presets into this pack, and there is a male counterpart for each of the characters in the female pack although none of them looks exactly the same.  I also did presets that include the HD morphs for each of the character presets, so there is a standard and HD version of each one.

I'm excited about this one, and I realized that I have more to say than would fit in the caption for the image I posted.  Anyway, one thing I really enjoyed was rendering with Midnight Stories' creature skins.  I own two of them (the rock demon and the gargoyle) and I used both multiple times on this product.  My current computer is getting a bit outdated, so it really helped me having something that would render in a reasonable time on my current machine.  A lot of the other creature skins I have just won't render on it at all if it's hot outside.  I'll probably pick up more of their creature sets as soon as the budget allows.

I've also got something coming out hopefully later this month that I can't talk about for reasons of NDA, but that should also be pretty cool.  :)

I'm wrapping up a set of beachwear shaders, and then I'll be scrambling to get something in for the PA sale coming up in September.  I can't quite decide what to do for that.  I'm waffling between trying something new (a set of LIE fantasy styled tattoos for the Genesis 2 males and females) and doing another backdrop and shader set.  The Bashable Backdrop (www.daz3d.com/fsl-bashable-bac…) has done quite well for me so far, so that might be a better risk.  Thoughts anyone?  :)

Anyway, cheers, hope everyone has a great day!

Busy times!

3 min read
So very busy lately!  I've been working nonstop on lots of DAZ projects, and I'll have a lot of fun things coming out the next couple of months.  So exciting!

Most of them I can't really talk about yet though, because of Non-disclosure reasons, but oh boy am I hoping to have some exciting projects out soon!

Starting with the ones I can talk about, my Bashable Backdrop just hit the DAZ store and it is doing pretty well, so I'll probably do more combination simple background/ shader sets in the future.  Plus it was a lot of fun to do.  :)

Coming out soon I've also got Cut for Gianni, a pack of dial spun morphs with mix-and-match options for Genesis 2 male to go with their Gianni figure release (they just announced him so he's no longer under n.d.a.).  I've posted the main promo from that set here in my deviantart.

Speaking of which, I'll probably do more similar packs in the future if this one does well.  I need more ideas for the promos though.  I've been scratching my head coming up with work safe scenarios where I can have 3 or more people mostly naked (so it shows of my work on the body shapes) without it seeming too contrived.  A little contrived is okay though.  I think it's much more interesting to have them against a background that tells some kind of story than just a plain backdrop for the main promo.  So far I've used "group of surfers on a rocky beach" and "group of barbarians in a temple/ ruin".

I've also thought of:  group of romans or samurai or fantasy characters in a public bath
group of athletes in a locker room
group of space people in cryosleep (although I kind of hesitate with this one because I kind of want the renders to subtly show the a character for each shape with slightly different poses and outfits or accessories and with cryosleep everyone tends to be in very similar poses and outfits)
group of people at the pool (this seems appropriate with summer coming up)

On a side note, I've been working so hard lately I'm looking forward to a break this weekend for Sakuracon!  Whoo!

Yay!

My first ever DAZ product has finally hit the marketplace.  This is Petal Fae for Genesis and you can see it here:  www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-it…, although they didn't list me on the product page, probably because I don't have any other products out in the DAZ store so it would be silly to have a "more by fuseling" link that just leads to the same product.  Anyway, I am super excited for my first ever DAZ product!

I also just had my sci fi dark materials and texture set come out at Renderosity; you can find that here:  www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/in…  It should be on introductory sale for 30 percent off.  So this is a pretty exciting week for me digitally.  Check out my gallery for full my favorite renders from the Sci Fi materials without logos or thumbnails in the way, and for some additional renders of Petal Fae that you won't find in the DAZ promos.

I was looking through my computer files the other day and realized that I have lots and lots of high resolution photographs I've taken over the last few years of scenery and flowers.  It's often cloudy here, so we get this beautiful smooth even diffuse light that is wonderful for photography.  Shortly after that, Renderosity created a new category on their site for stock images, and I thought "Hey, maybe some other people would be interested in all these photos I've got."  So I decided to try out a couple of stock image products and see how they do.  The first one is flowers, including roses, lilies, tulips, and many others.  It went up at the store today here:  www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/fs….  The second one I'll be uploading today and it is a foggy/mysterious forest set (something we have a lot of here in fairyland), so we'll see how that goes.

I was working on a Ghostly Genesis product, but it just didn't turn out like I was hoping so I have shelved it for now and will probably come back to it in a couple weeks once current projects are completed.  I've gotten to the point with it where I've tweaked and altered it so much I just can't look at it anymore at all objectively, and when that happens with an artistic project you need to work on something else for a while, especially if your job allows you to set your own schedule.

Next up at Rendo after the Dark Forest photo resource will be my first big pack of DAZ mats/ texture resource.  I've been playing it safe with my previous packs and doing the minimum number of textures at the minimum price for Rendo, but I think a bigger pack has potential to do well so I am giving it a try with Floral Materials.  This one will be forty base textures and four hundred mats (compared to 25 base textures and 100 mats for the previous versions), so it's a big increase in what's included.  I am enjoying putting it together a lot, and doing more mats for each base texture really lets me include more fun options.

After that will be the textures for Petal Fae with Sickleyield's wonderful meshes.  This product definitely has me excited.  Between all these upcoming projects and preparing for my next kung fu test, I've got so very much to do and so little time but it's all good stuff!

It's a lovely Friday here in fairyland, and my latest materials collection is up at Renderosity (www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/fs…).  These were aimed at being a  set of classical sci fi materials that would evoke the epic space opera shows I grew up watching.  I had so much fun making them!  I am posting two of the renders, the main promo minus the words it has at Rendo and the promo showing the utility presets.  I was especially happy with the utility preset render this time; what made a big difference I think was the presets where I separated out the ambient maps so they can be used with any texture.  It's really fun taking my favorite character presets and adding a glowy ambient effect to the skin.

I'm also working on a ghostly Genesis set of shaders and materials and a few props (although the props are rather toony, it's still quite a fun set).  I am having a bit of an issue with feature creep on this one so it is taking longer than initially planned, but I am super excited about how it's turning out.

Also, I've discovered in the mood tab that it's possible to have a little knight wave his sword about at everyone who reads my journal.  It's great fun and I definitely approve.
